Dr. Samuel Dorevitch

Dr. Samuel Dorevitch, MD, MPH, is an associate professor and Interim Director of the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health at UIC School of Public Health.

He has conducted research on issues related to water, health, and policy with funding from the Chicago Park District, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

His expertise is in the area of waterborne microbial pathogens, and has served as a reviewer of federal policy and regulatory issues related to water and health.

He is currently funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help prepare the Illinois Department of Public Health for health conditions related to climate change, such as waterborne disease following heavy flooding.
